Ross Vickers is an associate practicing in the areas of employment, commercial and tort litigation, insurance defense, education law, and administrative law. His practice focuses on defending claims brought under Title VII, the ADA, ADEA and FMLA, Florida Civil Rights Act, Florida’s Public Whistleblower Act, and various contract, general liability and other tort matters. Ross has represented and advised corporations and employers on a variety of employment law related matters. Ross also advises public post-secondary institutions on a wide range of matters unique to the college education setting. Ross is experienced in appearing before administrative judges and boards throughout Florida. He has handled numerous matters before various licensing boards in the state of Florida, and is well equipped to address a variety of licensure issues that may arise.
Ross earned his Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctorate degrees from Florida State University. During law school, Ross wrote and edited articles for the Journal of Land Use and Environmental Law. He also obtained the Book Award (highest grade in the class) and an award for Best Appellate Brief in Legal Research and Writing. Following graduation, Ross served as Assistant General Counsel to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (“DBPR”) and as Assistant General Counsel to the Florida Department of Health (“DOH”) in the Emergency Action Unit where he regularly appeared before the Florida Board of Medicine and other healthcare regulatory boards throughout the state of Florida. Ross is experienced in handling complex medical cases and has litigated multiple cases in the state courts and administrative tribunals of Florida.
Ross has a wife, two children, and dog. Ross loves the outdoors and spends his spare time with his family exploring the trails of North Florida, fishing, traveling, and attending live sporting events. Ross is admitted to practice law in all Florida state courts and in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida. He is a member of the Tallahassee Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division; Administrative Law Section; and Florida Defense Lawyers Association (“FDLA”).
